For some days now, our correspondence have tried to gather information on the need for the PYTHON DANCE.
THE PYTHON DANCE CURRENTLY CAUSED MORE HARM THAN GOOD
The Nigerian Army on Saturday said the ongoing “Python Dance” was a field training exercise, and was held to sharpen the skill of the troops.
Deputy Director, Public Relations 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu, Col. Sagir Musa, disclosed this in
a statement which was made available to journalists in Enugu.
Sagir said the operation was not targeted at anybody……well, we too want to believe that……
The statement read, “The 82 Division, Nigerian Army, is currently on a field training exercise code-named exercise EGWU EKE II (Python Dance).
“The exercise which started on 15th September and will last till 14th October 2017 is meant to sharpen the skills of 82 Division troops in the conduct of internal security operations.
“The exercise is also aimed at combating the security challenges in the South-East and is well equipped to deal with the rising cases of
insecurity such as kidnappings, armed forces farmers-herdsmen clashes, cultism, violent secessionist agitations, insurgency among others.
MY TAKE ON THE PYTHON DANCE:
Please the federal government should understand that the nation is currently not at peace, and if insecurities in the south-eastern region should checked, I think it is the work of the police.
And secondly given the fact that, the troops had to train in the eastern part of the country, where thy supposedly have lots of nonacceptance and zero tolerance.
